Sorry to hear about that. It's so strange when people won't even be willing to confront anything that might contradict their beliefs in an organized religion, apparently being afraid what they find out may lead to an undestanding that there may be problems with what they've always thought was the only true organized religion.

hope that works for you. My wife refuses to read any articles I've printed out right off the CD. She wont even look at them on the computer screen.
I'm sorry to hear about that and am still amazed at how people can convince themselves what they know is the truth even if they are scared to death of reading anything that might contradict such truth. My wife wouldn't have been willing to look at anything either until just very recently, though it's only a little at a time. She's reading one thin book now, though I haven't read it myself and am not sure how good it is at pointing some things out. It seems okay from the first couple pages I read.
I hope your wife gets interested some day in looking into things more, too.

I think she said she could order the 50 year CD, so maybe she could order other materials in the fashion you mentioned even though she's DF'd.
The solution is very simple.
Have her write the WTS requesting photocopies of the literature in question. Make sure the letter offers to pay a reasonable "processing fee". The letter should include something like:
I am willing to pay up to $10.00 (US) for any processing fees related to this request. If it will cost more, please notify me what the expense will be before the work is performed.The reason you do this is so that they cannot charge you $1,000.00 to scan a few pages and then sue you for the costs. (Yes, some places will do that.)
If she can't trust a photocopy from the Watchtower Society, what can she trust?

Thanks Blondie and Nathan~! I have a little thin book with some WT old quotes printed in a scanned manner in it and have been thinking about trying to find a way to get the 50 year CD for a while now and surely will soon. I don't know any current JW's that would willingly help to get access to old books or anything, though; I live in Oklahoma but would love to be able to check out the east coast someday~!

I feel so left out, I haven't had a JW knock on my door for about 14 years now. I just don't see them out in service. I've had one Mormon come to my door about 2 years ago and really that's about all.

I can relate, though; I probably haven't had a JW knock on my door in at least as long, though I saw some getting ready to visit a friend of mine's house and told him to go get a flag out and get ready - lol~!
I've never been a JW (married to one who's DF'd now), but I remember once when Mormans came to my door one day, and then the next a couple of JW's were at my door and I was basically telling them to beat it when I saw the 2 Mormans across the street and told the JW's, "There you go! Go witness to them!" And they just looked pi$$ed off at me and left.
i just received an email that said mj attended the memorial in solvang last night.
he attended with his mom and dad and also his son.
this info was forwarded to me via 2 others but i saw the original email so i think it's probably true.
Wonder if the 'faithful' avoided him - he is Da'd.There may be a special 'celebrity clause' in that rule - not sure!

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.
i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

Also, the one thing I could see at some point eventually becoming a matter people might try to sue over is the WT not allowing active JW's to even speak to their own DF'd family members, such as is the case with my wife and her family. I'm certainly no expert, though; but people sue for anything these days, let alone something that ruins people's lives~!
